Music Matters mission is to provide people of all ages and abilities the tools to have a life long love of music.
Why Music Matters
Music is an art form that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Either by a professional performer or the casual music enthusiast, music brings people together. When a person learns to communicate through music, they participate in a shared experience that can foster friendships, build community, and inspire.
Music Matters School of Music embolden our students to explore all areas of music by teaching them music they like to play. By providing a safe and clean environment, the school offers several opportunities to perform either as a soloist or in one of our many ensembles.
As a parent we realize you have a choice between several different music schools, however not all schools are the same. We constantly renovate and improve our facilities and provide ongoing training to our staff to ensure we are always providing our students and parents with the best experience possible.
In the Community
Music Matters strongly believes in being a part of the local and global community. The school hosts several fundraisers for local and international charities through out the school year to provide aid to those in need. Some of the organizations we support are: Mooseheart, Batavia Mothers Club, Save Darfur Coalition, Access to Music, and many others. If you would like to know how you can help, please contact us.

The largest and most qualified teaching faculty in the Fox Valley
We have 30 music teachers all with either college training or professional performance experience. Our music teachers are dedicated to learning about your personal musical goals and helping you to achieve them. With at least three music teachers for every instrument, we are confident that we have the right teacher to meet your music lesson needs. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and dedicated to teaching you the style of music that you want to learn in your music lesson.

We only teach music. By focusing on education and not instrument sales, we can provide our students with the best possible education and not trying to sell you more merchandise.
Proven track record of excellence since 2006
We have taught over 300,000 lessons to our students in the last 15 years. Our students go on to be successful in music either teaching at Universities, the public school system, playing on tour, leading Drum Corps International performers, or sharing their music with family and loved ones.

Red Carpet Recitals
Our famous Red Carpet Recitals will leave you feeling like you are a professional musician.
Every parent just wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital.
In May and December many of our students choose to perform in our biannual recitals. We even provide a red carpet and step and repeat banner to make it fun!
In Person or Online Private Lessons
Private lessons ensure that the student has the undivided attention of the teacher and can progress at a level suited to them individually. We have made it easy to have your lesson either in person at our school or online, whatever works best with your needs.
Parking
The school has two large parking lots for our community members.
Comfortable lounges for parents and siblings to relax and enjoy
The school has two lounges, a children’s play area, office staff available during class times, and constantly renovated teaching studios.
Full Time Office Staff to Answer any questions
Many music school desks are staffed by the teacher/owner or more commonly voicemail. Our office team members are available at the front desk to assist our clients quickly and professionally.
Located in the heart of Batavia
Our convenient location is close to great shopping, restaurants, and coffee shops. Students from Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, North Aurora love visiting them after their lesson.
Picture Day
We are the only music school in the Fox Valley that offers a picture day for their students. Every Spring and Fall we host a free picture day with professional photographer. This is a service that our student's parents love as they all want quality photos of their children. Adults are welcome too! Students can bring their instruments to the photo shoot and wear whatever they like.
Month to Month Lessons
Music Matters does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis.
