At Music Matters students learn to perform, not just how to play. By focusing on the fundamentals of technique, musicianship, listening, singing, body movement, and performance, we provide a solid foundation for our students to reach their goals.
All our students learn from the Performance Based Method. Learning happens by doing, and our students are taught the proper technique and musical concepts, so that they will have a successful performance either in a solo recital, band concert, or ensemble concert.
Music Matters provides all our students with a solid foundation of the fundamentals of music. Having a welcome atmosphere and knowledgeable teachers provides the opportunity for all students to excel, regardless of skill.
Every student is different. Everyone learns in different ways, and everyone has different goals. Some people will just be getting started, while others will have a focused goal in mind, such as preparing for a big contest or audition. The first stage in our process is to find a mix of opportunities to meet your goals.
Music Matters recommends all of our students to take at least a 30-minute weekly lesson and strongly encourages the participation in one of our many ensembles as well. This allows the student to apply what they are learning in their lessons. You can check out our current class offerings here.
