Class Offerings

Private Instruction

• Piano, voice, guitar, percussion, as well as all band and orchestra instruments
• Student receives one on one instruction for either 30- or 60-minutes weekly.
• Focus on music fundamentals with emphasis on music theory, reading, and technique.
• Students are encouraged to bring in music that they want to learn. Style can include classical, rock, pop, jazz, Latin and many more.
• Ages 5+ for most instruments

Group Classes

Percussion FUNdamentals

• Learn the basic foundations of percussion in a group class
• Get warm-up materials that are used by the professionals
• Have fun learning the basics in a small group setting
• Learn the basics the correct way to avoid having to re-learn later
• Taught by professional percussionists
• Designed for the Beginning Band Percussionist

Percussion Ensemble

• Play music with only percussion instruments (marimba, drum set, cymbals, xylophone, congas, etc…)
• Challenging music, students play the entire rehearsal instead of just counting or sitting around
• Experience playing with others
• Have fun with music
• Perform on a concert
• Ages 11+

Steel Band

• Play steel drums
• No experience needed
• Have fun playing music from the Caribbean like the Calypso
• Experience playing out in public at large festivals
• Ages 12+

World Rhythm Ensemble

• Learn rhythms from around the world
• Play traditional folkloric patterns
• Hand drumming, bell playing
• Learn traditional dances
• No experience required,
• Ages 12+

Music Matters Monkey Percussionists

• Play Jazz Standards on percussion instruments
• No music experience needed
• This is fun ensemble that introduces music to children via percussion instruments
• Cool pieces, lots of fun, make new friends
• Perform on a concert
• Ages 7-12

ROCK BAND! (12 weeks)

• Learn rock songs you want to play
• Get taught by professional musicians
• Have a Rock Show for the public
• Get a recording of your live show
• Instruments: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards, Vocals
• Ages 10+

Adult Group Guitar Class (8 weeks)

• Learn to play the guitar in a fun group setting
• Small groups
• Play familiar rock, pop, and folk songs
• Professional musicians teach chords, rhythm and lead playing styles
• Experience playing solo’s with the group

String Ensemble

• Play fun music
• Small groups
• Pop, Jazz, Rock, Latin Music
• Beginning to Advanced students
• Instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass
• Ages 7+

Flute Choir

• Reinforce fundamentals learned in lessons
• Play a variety of fun music in all styles
• Learn ensemble skills
• Make friends
• Perform on a concert
• Ages 10+

Jazz Combo

• Learn to improvise
• Play jazz standards and new pieces in all styles
• Learn how to arrange music for small groups
• Get professional playing experience
• All instruments welcome
• Ages 10+

Music Theory

• Learn basic music theory
• Understand music at a mathematical and analytical level
• Reinforce what you already know
• A must for anyone studying music
• Level 1(beginning), level 2 (intermediate) , level 3 (advanced)

Music Appreciation

• Learn the history of western music
• Expand your musical knowledge
• How does classical music influence popular music of today
• Get exposure to the great master works
• Course includes book and recordings
• Field trip to see the a professional orchestra
